Fire Department Tours and Visits

The Green Township Fire Department offers tours of our stations.  We are also available to come to your school, business, group meeting or facility for a visit.  We have many programs that we can provide covering most target audiences.

Prepared programs include:

  • Young children usually see a general fire safety program that includes how to use 9-1-1, how to get out of a fire, smoke detectors, and stop-drop-and-roll.
  • Older children and teens usually see a more in depth program such as "What to do Until the Ambulance Arrives", or merit badge programs for scouts.
  • Adults usually enjoy demonstrations of equipment and hearing how the department operates.  Each adult program is usually relatively free-free form.  Based on interaction with the participants, crews will tailor content to the event.

We also frequently visit neighborhood parties and perform "free-form" programs.  We will try to accomodate requests for special programs.  If you would like to schedule a tour or visit, please call (513) 574-4111 or eMail the Fire Education office

Firefighters frequently make
presentations at local schools, from
preschool to high school..
Students at Oakdale Elementary watch
intently as a teacher is "rescued" from the
roof at a demonstration.

At a block party visit, the kids
usually enjoy a thorough wetdown
(weather permitting). . . .
 . . . .or a group picture, or exploring
what's on a fire truck, . . . .
. . . .while the REALLY BIG kids can
find out how everything works or how
their tax dollars are spent.
