TO GREEN TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS AND SMALL BUSINESSES
NATURAL GAS RATES:
Green Township has just negotiated a new natural gas rate for 2012 with Integrys Energy. As of January 1, 2012 the natural gas aggregation rate for households in the Green Township Aggregation Program will be 51.6 cents per ccf.
This is a fixed rate until November 30, 2012 with a flex-down opportunity if the natural gas rate should go lower. This is a very good rate for the approximately 11,000 households that are enrolled in the natural gas aggregation program.
ELECTRIC RATES:
In the fall of 2006, residents in Green Township voted to start an Electric Aggregation Program. In 2009, Green Township initiated an Electric Aggregation Program to give residents more choices and try to save money for residents and small businesses. Green Township is proud that we took the initiative to establish the Electric Aggregation Program with Dominion Retail, which saved our residents and small businesses over $4 million dollars in 2010.
Green Township established the Electric Aggregation Program as a public service to the residents. The Township does not derive any funds from the program. Our hope is that you take advantage of the opportunity to reduce your utility bills and shop for the best rate. We hope that you get the best electric rate possible.
The Township is in the process of negotiating with three separate companies to secure the best rate for electric aggregation. We hope to have a rate of 5.97 cents per Kwhr, or lower, by the end of January, 2012.
The current Electric Aggregation rate with Green Township is 6.75 per kwhr. If your household can find a better rate than 6.0 cents we encourage you to investigate that rate.
As Trustees we want you to get the best rates possible. Please call Green Township administrative staff at #574-4848 if you have any questions concerning these options.
