About The Police Department
The Green Township Police Department is charged with the responsibility of serving and protecting the more than 61,000 residents of Green Township. Under the direction of Chief Bart W. West, 28 sworn police officers, along with sixteen officers from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, provide a wide variety of police services.
The Patrol Section protects the streets of the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2007 patrol units in Green Township responded to more than 35,000 calls for service and made 3,021 arrests. The Criminal Investigative Section is responsible for investigating the 4,000 or so criminal reports which are filed each year. In addition to patrol and investigative services, the Green Township Police Department provides a wide range of other services. Some of these services include; motorcycle patrol, Crime Prevention services, D.A.R.E., Neighborhood Watch, Citizens’ Police Academy, and a 574-LEADS crime tip line.
